Ava Little was known throughout the Byron community for her “vibrant spirit” and participation in local beauty pageants. However, her family reveals that behind her “radiant smile” was a child struggling with the weight of peer harassment.
Peach County Coroner Kerry Rooks confirmed the cause of death as suicide, according to local reports. In the wake of the tragedy, Ava’s aunt, Paige Day, emphasized that the family’s grief has been funneled into a mission for advocacy.
“Ava was severely bullied and we want to bring light to that,” Day told local media. “We want her voice to be heard. To bring awareness to not only bullying but also childhood mental health.”
