Two 12-year-olds who vanished from Southern California in late September have been found safe, officials confirmed.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) announced that Jaiden Anthony and Jordynn Jones have been “located” after weeks of uncertainty surrounding their disappearance.
“Thank you to the public, the media, Aero Bureau, and deputy personnel for their tireless efforts in the search for Jaiden and Jordynn Jones,” the department said in a statement.
Authorities did not release additional details about how the children went missing or where they were found.
The update came just days after the LASD issued a public advisory on Oct. 15, asking for help finding the siblings, who were last seen on East Palmer Street in Compton, California, around 3:55 p.m. on Sept. 24.
At the time, Jaiden was described as 4’5” tall and 80 pounds with black hair and brown eyes, while Jordynn was listed as 4’8” tall and 100 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Their clothing at the time of their disappearance was not known.

Family members shared a photo of the two with KTLA, showing the brother and sister posing together and making funny faces. Earlier this week, relatives had issued an emotional plea for help locating them.
According to KTLA, the LASD noted that the children’s family did not report any health conditions that might have contributed to their disappearance.
The pair weren’t the only missing children found by the department this week. The LASD also announced that 11-year-old Ajalon Russell — who went missing from the Los Angeles area on Oct. 11 — had been safely located. Authorities previously said Ajalon, who is autistic, was last seen wearing a black tank top and blue shorts and may have wandered off to nearby gas stations.
