Shinae Ann, a 28-year-old YouTuber and TikToker from Australia, is sharing her story about how her life changed after being diagnosed with incurable brain cancer.

In a video posted in September, Shinae revealed she has a grade 2 astrocytoma — a type of brain tumor that develops from supportive tissue cells and can spread through brain tissue, according to the Cleveland Clinic.

At the time of her diagnosis, Shinae had been busy planning her wedding. She later shared on TikTok that she and her fiancé decided to move their April 2026 wedding to later in the year, uncertain about how her treatment would affect their plans.

Speaking with 9Honey, Shinae described the day she learned something was wrong. After breakfast, she parked her car outside her house to take a friend’s phone call. Suddenly, she began seeing strange visions in her right eye and couldn’t open the car door.

“Something was not right. I didn’t know where I was,” she recalled. She told her friend, “Something is wrong with me,” before panic set in.

Her fiancé, Sebastian, rushed to her side after her friend called him. “He said I just looked at him with terror in my eyes,” she remembered. Though it took nearly a minute to open the door, they quickly drove to a nearby hospital.

Soon after arriving, Shinae suffered a seizure. Doctors stabilized her and transferred her to a public hospital for further treatment. Scans revealed a tumor, and surgeons scheduled an operation to remove as much as possible and perform a biopsy.

Doctors later diagnosed her with a cancerous astrocytoma. Because of the tumor’s location in parts of the brain that control speech, memory, and vision, they told her it was not curable.

“It’s made its way into important parts of my brain, so they can’t remove it completely, which means I’ll probably have it forever,” she told 9Honey.

Shinae also shared that her father had recently suffered a seizure, making the diagnosis even harder on her family.

She plans to undergo radiation and chemotherapy. But even with treatment, doctors explained the cancer will eventually return.

Despite this, Shinae has shown determination to stay positive. On TikTok, she has spoken about going through fertility treatments in hopes of freezing embryos and having children in the future.

“I don’t really dwell on the negatives too much; I always try to look for the positives,” she said.

She has also encouraged other young people to take their health seriously. For years she suffered from migraines before her tumor was found. “All it would’ve taken was getting an MRI three or five years ago and we would’ve known,” she said. “You know yourself best — if you feel something is wrong, push for answers.”

Looking ahead, Shinae remains hopeful. “I have high hopes. I have youth on my side. I’m healthy, so I’m going to do everything I can to still live a long, healthy life.”
