A community in Scotland is grieving after three teenage boys were killed in a car crash.
Police Scotland said in a press release that the victims — identified as Fergus Ward, Lewis Knox and Jordan Cameron, according to the BBC and The Press and Journal — were traveling on the A830 road in the Highlands near the village of Arisaig around 11:15 p.m. local time on Thursday, Aug. 28, when the accident happened.
The boys were riding in a white Ford Fiesta, and all three were pronounced dead at the scene, police confirmed.

Two local sports clubs later identified the teens as players. While police said formal identification is still pending, they confirmed the boys were in their mid-teens.
A local shinty club — the traditional Scottish sport played with a ball and sticks — posted a tribute on social media, confirming that Knox and Ward were members. The club held a moment of silence before a match on Saturday.
“It is with great sadness that our community has lost three young local men this week. Our deepest heartfelt condolences go out to the family and friends of Fergus, Lewis and Jordan at this very difficult time,” the Fort William Shinty Club wrote.
The tribute added that Ward and Knox had grown up in the club, moving through the youth teams and becoming important members of the under-17 squad. “The boys will be greatly missed by their families, friends and the wider community,” the post continued.
The club promised to honor their memory on the field, writing, “Take care, everyone, and our door is open for anyone who needs us now and in future.”
The Fort William Football Club also remembered Cameron, who played on their team and helped win a local title last season.
“Jordan was a very talented footballer and a pleasure to coach over the years we had him at 16s and 18s,” his coaches wrote on Facebook. “He’ll be deeply missed by us and everyone who knew him. We are sending our condolences to Jordan’s family and also to the families of Lewis and Fergus.”
They added that the strong support shown by the local community for the boys’ families and friends was “nothing short of outstanding” and reflected how close the town is. “The boys were hugely popular in the area and will be missed throughout Lochaber.”
Friends also created a memorial outside a leisure center in Fort William, leaving flowers, sports gear with the boys’ names, and other tributes.
Scotland’s First Minister, John Swinney, shared condolences in an X post, saying: “Deeply saddened to hear of the tragic loss of three young people in a car crash near Arisaig. My thoughts are with their families, friends and the whole community at this heartbreaking time.”
Police Scotland Inspector Donnie MacKinnon said the investigation is ongoing.
“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances, and I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash and hasn’t already spoken to officers to get in touch,” he wrote. “I would also appeal to anyone who was in the area and who may have dash cam footage which could assist to contact us.”
“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the people who died as a result of this crash,” MacKinnon added.
