The Los Angeles Police Department and Mayor Karen Bass announced multiple arrests following a major theft ring bust in Southern California.

At a Monday news conference, Los Angeles Police Chief Jim McDonnell said eight suspected members of the Rich Rollin’ Crew were behind 92 home break-ins dating back to 2022. Most of the crimes occurred in 2024 and this year. According to police, the group primarily stole luxury goods from the homes and later resold them.

The arrests were the result of a multi-agency operation involving the Los Angeles Police Department, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, and other regional law enforcement partners, according to KTLA.

The case follows a string of burglaries at the homes of celebrities including actor Brad Pitt, WWE stars Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins, and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills personality Teddi Mellencamp.

In July, American Idol executive Robin Kaye and her husband, Thomas DeLuca, were killed during a break-in at their Encino home.

Chief McDonnell said the Rich Rollin’ Crew is not linked to that burglary or several others in the Encino area, but stressed that investigators have made progress with additional arrests and will “continue to dedicate significant resources” to apprehend those still at large.

Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman noted that many of those arrested already had one or two felony strikes on their records. If convicted, some could face life sentences under California’s three-strikes law.

Charges against the eight suspects are still pending.
