Authorities have identified the man accused of carrying out a brutal stabbing spree at a Walmart in Traverse City, Michigan, that left 11 people wounded.

Bradford James Gille, 42, of Afton, Michigan, is facing one count of terrorism and 11 counts of assault with intent to murder, police announced Sunday. Grand Traverse County Sheriff Michael Shea confirmed Gille acted alone in the Saturday attack and used a folding knife to carry out the rampage.

Suspect Has Prior Criminal History

Sheriff Shea said Gille has a record of prior assault offenses and controlled substance violations. Investigators are still working to determine a motive for the attack.

“He entered the store and began stabbing random individuals,” Shea said, adding that the suspect was quickly taken into custody without injury. Bystanders inside the store also assisted in subduing Gille and helping the wounded.

Witness Describes ‘Movie-Like’ Chaos

Tiffany DeFell, 36, who witnessed the aftermath from the parking lot, described the scene as surreal.

“It was really scary,” she told the Associated Press. “This is something you see out of the movies. It’s not what you expect to see where you’re living.”

Federal Support and Ongoing Investigation

The FBI has joined the investigation and is providing support. Grand Traverse County authorities also released images of the weapon allegedly used in the attack — a folding knife recovered at the scene.

In a statement to Fox News Digital, Walmart spokesperson Joe Pennington condemned the violence.

“Violence like this is unacceptable,” he said. “Our thoughts are with those who were injured, and we are grateful for the swift response from law enforcement and emergency personnel. We will continue working closely with authorities during the investigation.”
