Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith appear to be making big changes—not just in their relationship, but in their real estate portfolio.
According to RadarOnline, the longtime couple has been offloading several properties in recent months, including a $2 million home in Woodland Hills listed in March and a five-bedroom house in Maryland that sold for $817,000 in February. While modest by Hollywood standards, sources say the sales reflect a broader financial realignment as the couple quietly distances themselves from one another.
In 2022, Stacker estimated Will and Jada’s combined net worth at $400 million. More recent estimates place Will’s solo net worth between $350 million and $375 million.
Smith’s public image—and career—took a major hit after he slapped comedian Chris Rock during the 2022 Academy Awards. Though he won the Best Actor Oscar for King Richard that night, he was banned from all Academy events for 10 years, and the fallout has followed him ever since.
In a 2023 interview on NBC’s Today, Jada confirmed that she and Will have been living “completely separate lives” since 2016. The revelation came as a shock to many, especially since the couple’s massive 150-acre Calabasas estate remains solely in Will’s name. Jada quietly moved out of the compound years ago, she said.
The Calabasas estate, built with architect Stephen Samuelson and featured in Architectural Digest, includes nine bedrooms, 13 bathrooms, a recording studio, a meditation lounge, and even a sunken trampoline. It was briefly listed in 2014 for $42 million.
Despite their estrangement, no formal divorce has been announced. The couple remains legally married and financially connected, though real estate records suggest a gradual uncoupling. Both the Woodland Hills and Maryland homes were purchased via a trust linked to Smith’s longtime manager.
The Maryland home, located in Owings Mills’ upscale Greenspring Valley area, is believed to have housed Jada’s mother and Red Table Talk co-host Adrienne Banfield-Norris. Recently renovated, the home sold for $817,000—above its $795,000 listing price—just weeks after hitting the market.
Will has recently returned to music with his introspective album Based on a True Story, calling it his “most full musical offering” to date and describing it as a product of “deep self-examination.” Meanwhile, Jada is reportedly setting up a new residence nearby, though details remain private.
According to RadarOnline sources, a formal separation may be closer than ever. For now, though, the Smiths continue to navigate life in two separate lanes—one in Calabasas, the other shrouded in silence.
