Trump’s Former CIA Director Says Hillary Clinton Could Still Face DOJ Prosecution: ‘That’s Why I Made the Referrals’

Former CIA Director John Ratcliffe, who served under President Trump, has suggested that Hillary Clinton and other top Obama-era officials could still face prosecution based on intelligence he referred to the Department of Justice.

Appearing on Fox News’ Sunday Morning Futures with host Maria Bartiromo, Ratcliffe pointed to what he described as classified evidence related to the origins of the Russia investigation—evidence he claims implicates Clinton, former FBI Director James Comey, and former CIA Director John Brennan.

“For four years, the truth about the origins of the Russia collusion hoax was kept from the American people,” Ratcliffe said during the interview. He accused senior Obama administration officials of promoting what he called “fake” claims of Russian election interference to damage President Trump, and linked their efforts to what he described as “the next hoax” involving Hunter Biden’s laptop in 2020.

Ratcliffe revealed that he had sent intelligence referrals to the DOJ concerning multiple officials, some of which are expected to be detailed in a classified annex of Special Counsel John Durham’s final report.

“The underlying intelligence shows part of this was a Hillary Clinton plan,” Ratcliffe said. “But it was also an FBI plan—to accelerate that fake Steele Dossier, to amplify the false Russia collusion narrative, and to hide what Hillary Clinton was actually up to.”

Bartiromo asked if this meant people like Clinton, Brennan, and Comey could still face indictments or legal consequences. Ratcliffe replied, “That’s why I’ve made the referrals that I have.”

He said the intelligence community under the Trump administration had worked to declassify key documents and continued to support efforts that would allow the DOJ to “bring fair and just claims against those who have perpetrated this hoax and stain on our country.”

Ratcliffe’s comments come amid ongoing fallout from the now-closed Durham probe, which examined the origins of the FBI’s Crossfire Hurricane investigation. While Durham’s final report was critical of the FBI, it resulted in few prosecutions and no convictions of major figures. Still, Ratcliffe insisted that accountability could still come through further DOJ action.
