Shark Tank co-host Kevin O’Leary delivered a sharp rebuke of Late Show host Stephen Colbert on Tuesday, slamming him for his recent vulgar comment directed at President Donald Trump — and predicting CBS will quickly cut ties with Colbert as a result.
Speaking on CNN’s NewsNight, O’Leary criticized Colbert for saying “Go f— yourself!” to Trump during his first monologue following the network’s announcement that The Late Show will come to an end next May.
“Here’s the problem for Colbert: His contract is a payout contract through a transaction where there’s a change of control,” O’Leary explained. “Only a moron would tell the president to F off before he gets his check.”
While CBS had originally stated Colbert would remain on air through May, O’Leary expressed doubt he would last the week.
“So what’s gonna happen now, in my opinion, is tomorrow, CBS — his boss — will fire him, and they will litigate for the next five years his payout,” O’Leary said.
He didn’t hold back in his final assessment: “Get rid of this guy! If I were them, I’d whack this guy tomorrow.”
