President Donald Trump abruptly ended a phone call with CNN reporter Andrew Kaczynski on Tuesday, hanging up just 30 seconds into the conversation after being questioned about newly resurfaced images showing Jeffrey Epstein at Trump’s 1993 wedding to Marla Maples.
The images, released by CNN’s KFile, depict Epstein attending the wedding at the Plaza Hotel and later socializing with Trump and his children at a Harley-Davidson Cafe event that same year.
During her segment on Tuesday evening, CNN anchor Erin Burnett described the photos as never-before-seen and part of a broader archival review, labeling the material as exclusive.
However, Kaczynski acknowledged in his article that the images were previously accessible through Google Images and Shutterstock. He emphasized that the photos, although publicly available, had not been widely reported and predate Epstein’s known legal troubles.
After the story went live, Kaczynski spoke with Burnett about his brief exchange with the president:
“We were not on the phone very long. I think our call was about 30 seconds or so. But when I asked him about the wedding photo, he paused for a moment and then said, ‘You’ve got to be kidding me,’ called CNN ‘fake news,’ and then hung up.”
Following the report, White House Communications Director Steven Cheung issued a response dismissing the photos as misleading:
“These are nothing more than out-of-context frame grabs of innocuous videos and pictures of widely attended events to disgustingly infer something nefarious.”
Cheung added, “The fact is that the President kicked him out of his club for being a creep. This is nothing more than a continuation of the fake news stories concocted by the Democrats and the liberal media.”
Although President Trump has not faced any charges related to Epstein, his previous connections to the convicted pedophile continue to draw public scrutiny—especially as calls grow for his administration to release long-requested Epstein-related documents.
