A woman has taken to Reddit to vent about her mother-in-law, who she claims has been trying to sneak “weird” photos of her baby — and she’s not tolerating it.
According to her post, tensions began when she told her husband’s mother not to take pictures of the child. The woman says her mother-in-law reacted with a “tantrum,” huffing and accusing her of being overly dramatic and “possessive” of “her baby.”
The disagreement escalated when the woman’s husband stepped in, leading to a heated two- to three-hour argument. During the exchange, his mother accused her of “trying to ruin their relationship.”

In the post, she explained: “Husband responds that if she really wanted to take pictures of the baby, all she had to do was ask for help so he or I could cover the baby’s face. MIL and FIL argue that they shouldn’t have to ask permission, they’re grown adults and can do as they please in their own house. Husband reminds them that it is our baby, not theirs, and since they felt so strongly, that is why I removed myself from the situation. If they wanted to see my baby, they could do it at our house, where they’ll have to follow our rules.”
Matters worsened when her mother-in-law posted the photos she had already taken to Facebook without consent. As a result, the couple has decided to cancel their annual trip to visit his family.
Reddit users were quick to rally behind the woman. One commenter wrote, “I am sorry you and your husband have to deal with such an unhinged family.” Another added, “Wow, this woman is literally off her rocker! Good on your husband for defending you so strongly; I’m so glad that he is so supportive of you.”
