A heartbreaking video from Madhya Pradesh has touched thousands online, showing a mother bear desperately trying to save her cub after it was hit by a speeding vehicle on a forest road.

The clip, shared on X by Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Parveen Kaswan, shows the mother bear nudging her injured cub, which lies motionless on the road. Another cub is seen clinging to her back as she tries to help.

Kaswan posted the video with an important reminder: “Such a sad visual. Remember, wildlife has the first right of way through forest roads.” He explained that the accident happened on the Gohparu to Jaitpur road in Shahdol, Madhya Pradesh. Many viewers called the scene one of the most painful examples of how careless driving can harm wildlife.

The video has been viewed over 62,000 times, sparking grief and anger. One person wrote, “Heartbreaking. Can’t we have quick medical help in wildlife-heavy areas? Many of these injuries can be treated if addressed in time.”

Others demanded stronger rules, with one comment saying, “Very sad. We need strict speed limits in forest areas, with tracking and heavy fines for violators.” Another asked, “Did the cub get vet help?”

Many users expressed pure sorrow: “It is truly heartbreaking to see such loss,” one person wrote. Another added, “This reminds us that forest roads are their homes first, ours second.” Some held on to hope, saying, “I hope the cub received help.”
