Shocking new details are emerging about the deaths of a pregnant Australian woman and her partner, who were found inside their Melbourne home late Monday night.
Police say 39-year-old Athena Georgopoulos, who was five months pregnant, and her partner, 50-year-old Andrew Gunn, were both killed on August 11. The home showed signs of a violent attack and had graffiti sprayed on the outside walls.
Authorities are investigating whether the two murders are connected and what the graffiti might mean. Some messages read “Karma is not a menu,” “Meat is murder,” and “Enough is Enough.”

About four hours after the bodies were discovered, police arrested a 34-year-old homeless man at a nearby train station. They said he still had blood on his shirt and was charged with two counts of murder. Investigators believe he knew the couple, but have not shared details about the relationship.
“This appears to be a targeted attack,” homicide detective Dean Thomas told reporters.
Family members are heartbroken. Athena’s aunt, Petty Dilveridis, was seen crying outside the crime scene. She told The Herald Sun that Athena was thrilled about her pregnancy and didn’t think she would ever be able to have a baby at her age.
“She was so looking forward to having a baby,” her aunt said.
