Vice President JD Vance was reportedly turned away by a well-known British pub after staff threatened to call in sick if the restaurant accepted his reservation.

An employee at The Bull in Charlbury, Oxfordshire, said they could not comment on the situation when contacted by The Daily Beast. The Public House Group, which operates the understated Michelin-rated venue, has not responded to a Daily News request for comment.

Some residents of the Oxfordshire village expressed frustration that Vance chose their south-central England area for a personal visit. Local news outlet the Oxford Clarion shared photos of lawn signs protesting the vice president’s presence.

One sign read, “Fascists not welcome here,” while another simply told Vance to “go home.”

The Oxford Mail reported in late July that former Vice President Kamala Harris had recently visited The Bull and at least one other local establishment without any problems. However, locals told the BBC that Vance’s visit created disruptions in daily life.

“I don’t think the locals are too happy about the roads being closed,” one resident said.

Vance faced a similar situation last September when he visited a Pennsylvania restaurant. Staff there were unprepared for the attention his visit generated just weeks before the election.

The restaurant later issued a statement clarifying that the Ohio politician was not “banned” and was allowed to interact with supporters after staff resolved the “momentary confusion.”
