A bride refused to let her husband’s mistake ruin their wedding day.

Rebecca Fildes recently posted a TikTok video that quickly went viral. The clip shows the moment she exchanged vows with her husband, Andrew Fildes, at a registry office in Bedfordshire, England. According to the Daily Mail, the couple had been together for six years before getting married in October 2023.

In the video, Andrew, 51, looks nervous while holding Rebecca’s hands. While repeating the vows, he accidentally called his bride “Sarah,” which made 46-year-old Rebecca burst into laughter.

“When [your] new husband calls you his ex-girlfriend’s name,” Rebecca wrote over the TikTok video.

Rebecca later explained in the caption, adding “oh dear” along with a face-covering emoji.

She quickly corrected Andrew in the moment, the Daily Mail reported.

“I wasn’t even aware of it when I said it. Rebecca just looked at me and I thought, ‘What have I said wrong?’ Then she corrected me,” Andrew said. “My brother put his hand on his face and my son shook his head. I knew I messed up.”

He added, “It’s just one of those things. It’s a common name. Yes, it was my ex’s name, but we’ve been separated for 10 years.”

The mix-up reminded the couple of the famous Friends episode where Ross says “Rachel” instead of “Emily” during his vows.

“We’ve got the kind of relationship where I don’t think he did it for any reason except it being a mistake,” Rebecca told the Daily Mail. “I laughed it off, and we still laugh about it. I keep telling him he owes me another wedding where he gets my name right.”

Since the TikTok clip went viral with over 38,000 views, many people have shared how they would have reacted.

One person wrote, “I wouldn’t laugh to hear the name of his ex-girlfriend… I would cancel the wedding, that’s a big red flag.”

Another commented, “I’d be bringing this up for the next 50 years,” while someone else said, “Oh dear, that’s not a good sign, is it?”

Even though some viewers suggested the mistake means trouble for their marriage, Rebecca hasn’t taken it seriously. She’s posted three more TikTok videos making fun of the criticism.

In her latest clip, she showed off her wedding ring with a calm expression and the words, “It will or won’t.”
