At least three people were killed and eight others were injured in a shooting at a restaurant in New York City early Sunday morning.
Police said they received several 911 calls around 3:30 a.m. on Aug. 17 about gunfire at Taste of the City Lounge on 903 Franklin Avenue in Brooklyn, according to a press conference held by the New York Police Department (NYPD).
NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tish said the victims included eight men and three women, ranging in age from 27 to 61.
Out of the 11 people shot, a 27-year-old man, a 35-year-old man, and another man whose age is unknown died from their injuries. The other eight victims were taken to nearby hospitals. Their conditions have not been released yet.
Police believe more than one shooter was involved. Detectives are reviewing CCTV footage from the scene to identify those responsible.
Footage obtained by The U.S. Sun shows several police cars at the restaurant and crime tape surrounding the area.
During the investigation, police found at least 36 shell casings inside the restaurant. A firearm was also recovered near Bedford Avenue and Eastern Parkway. Detectives are trying to find out if it was used in the shooting.
So far, no arrests have been made.
Commissioner Tish also noted that shootings in New York City have been at historic lows this year, calling the Brooklyn shooting “a terrible thing that’s happened this morning,” but also “an anomaly.”
