South Park Season 27, episode 3 premiered on Wednesday, August 20, continuing the show’s sharp satire of the Trump administration. This time, the storyline focused on the federal takeover of Washington, DC’s police department, while also skewering the tech industry’s attempts to cater to the President, according to Associated Press.
Federal takeover mocked through Towlie’s DC journey
The episode, titled Sickofancy, follows Towlie and Randy Marsh as they launch a new weed and tech venture called Techridy, powered by ChatGPT and ketamine. Their business ambitions lead them to Washington, DC, where Towlie seeks President Trump’s support to legalize marijuana.
The towel character’s trip through the capital includes surreal imagery of tanks near the White House, troops patrolling the streets, and a ride past the Supreme Court and Capitol. Ultimately, Towlie ends up in the Oval Office, where Randy presents him as a bribe to Trump—who, in a dark twist, uses Towlie in a crude manner, as reported by Variety.
Tech CEOs and politicians line up to please Trump
The episode also features cameos from Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Apple CEO Tim Cook, alongside politicians from Florida and Qatar. In a running gag, they all reassure Trump about his masculinity while presenting him with gifts.
In another shocking sequence, Trump is shown in bed with Satan, asking to use one of Apple’s gifts as a sex toy.
Season 27 continues to draw huge audiences
Trey Parker and Matt Stone’s latest season has been one of South Park’s most popular in years. Episode 2, which stirred controversy with its depiction of Kristi Noem shooting a puppy, pulled in 6.2 million viewers worldwide within three days of release.
Noem later blasted the portrayal as “lazy” and “petty” during an appearance on Glenn Beck’s radio show, saying, “It’s always the liberals and the extremists who do that. If they wanted to criticize my job, go ahead and do that, but clearly they can’t, they just pick something petty like that,” according to Variety.
