It’s official — Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are engaged!

The couple shared the happy news on Instagram on Aug. 26, posing in a flower-filled photo shoot where Swift proudly showed off her dazzling new ring.

Kelce, 35, designed the ring with Kindred Lubeck at Artifex Fine Jewelry. He chose an old mine brilliant cut diamond set on a gold band — a rare, antique style that quickly caught the attention of fans and jewelry experts alike.

Although Kelce and Lubeck haven’t revealed many specifics about the piece, jewelers are already weighing in with their insights and price estimates.

Hannah Florman, a fine jeweler who creates custom high-end engagement rings, estimated the stone could be around 8 carats. Because it’s an old mine diamond, she noted, the value would be significantly higher. “High-color antiques are extremely rare,” she explained, adding that the diamond’s unusual pillow shape also reflects its vintage origin.

Ann Grimmett, VP of merchandising at Jared Jewelers, offered a similar assessment. She suggested the diamond could be between 7 and 9 carats, set in 18k yellow gold with half-moon and round side stones. Her estimated price tag: between $250,000 and $500,000.

Neil Dutta, Managing Director of Angelic Diamonds, called the design “antique-inspired” and praised its warm, romantic feel. His valuation placed the ring at $1.3 to $1.5 million.

Jillian Sassone, founder of Marrow Fine, highlighted that antique diamonds like Swift’s are truly one-of-a-kind since no two stones mined in that era are exactly alike. She described the ring as “effortless” and “classic,” a perfect reflection of Swift’s style.

But celebrity jeweler George Khalife, better known as George the Jeweler, gave the boldest estimate. He suggested the stone could be closer to 20 carats with a value between $3.5 and $5 million. “The ring seems to come with some serious history,” he said. “Old mine diamonds are rare and hand-cut with techniques we hardly see anymore. The antique look suits Taylor perfectly.”

Kelce and Swift’s romance began in July 2023, when Kelce attended her Eras Tour at Arrowhead Stadium, where he plays for the Kansas City Chiefs. At the time, Kelce revealed on his podcast New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce that he’d hoped to give her a friendship bracelet with his number — but never got the chance.

By September, rumors heated up when Swift was spotted cheering for Kelce at a Chiefs game, sitting with his mom Donna and celebrating a touchdown before leaving the stadium together.

Earlier this month, Swift made her debut on the New Heights podcast, which Guinness World Records confirmed set a new mark for “the most concurrent views for a podcast on YouTube,” hitting 1.3 million viewers on Aug. 13.

During the appearance, Swift not only announced her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, but also shared details about her relationship with Kelce. She explained that their connection felt natural from the start. “I knew he wasn’t crazy the first couple of times we talked,” she said, adding that Kelce makes her laugh instantly and brings “a vibe boost” to everyone around him.
