The body of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas, who was found dead in singer d4vd’s Tesla trunk, has been released to her family for memorial services.
The Los Angeles County Coroner confirmed that her body was handed over to relatives on Tuesday, Sept. 23, according to TMZ.
This announcement comes days after Rivas’ family publicly addressed her death on Sept. 18. “As many of you know, Celeste Rivas Hernandez has been identified as the body found last week,” GoFundMe organizers Esmeralda Lozano and Gisel Vera wrote on the fundraising page. “She was a beloved daughter, sister, cousin, and friend.”
The statement continued, “Her family is heartbroken and devastated by this tragic loss. They are seeking help to lay her body to rest. Any funds you are able to donate are greatly appreciated.”
According to the fundraiser, Rivas’ funeral is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 4.
PEOPLE has reached out to GoFundMe to confirm the legitimacy of the fundraiser. Rivas was first reported missing in 2024, and her body was discovered on Sept. 8 in the back of a Tesla registered to d4vd, 20, whose real name is David Anthony Burke.

On Sept. 17, detectives from the Robbery-Homicide Division of the Los Angeles Police Department served a search warrant at a home on the 1300 block of Doheny Place in LA linked to d4vd.
Law enforcement sources previously told KABC-TV and the Los Angeles Times that the Hollywood Hills address is where the singer had been staying.
“Several items of evidence were recovered and will be analyzed by detectives in the coming days. This is an ongoing investigation. Investigators are following up on several leads,” an LAPD representative told PEOPLE.
Authorities are urging anyone with information related to this investigation to contact the Robbery-Homicide Division at (213) 486-6890 or LA Crime Stoppers at (213) 484-6700.
The singer, known for viral hits including “Romantic Homicide,” has not publicly commented on the investigation. A representative previously told NBC Los Angeles that d4vd is “fully cooperating” with authorities. His representative has not responded to multiple requests for comment from PEOPLE.
d4vd has canceled the remaining U.S. Withered Tour dates amid the ongoing investigation, Billboard reported.
