Ariana Grande recently took aim at the Trump administration, prompting a playful but pointed response from the White House.
The 32-year-old pop star reshared a post on her Instagram Story directed at Trump voters, asking if their lives have “gotten better,” if groceries have “gotten cheaper,” if health insurance premiums have “gone down,” whether their work/life balance “has improved,” and if they feel any happier since President Trump returned to office. The post also criticized ICE raids across the country, transphobic rhetoric, and concerns about free speech in the wake of controversy surrounding Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night show.
White House spokesperson Kush Desai responded with a statement sprinkled with Grande’s own song lyrics: “Save your tears, Ariana. Because President Trump’s actions ended Joe Biden’s inflation crisis and are bringing in trillions in new investments.”
Desai continued, “He even signed an executive order just like magic that paved the way for the FTC to crack down on Ticketmaster for ripping off Ariana Grande’s concert-going fans. Get well soon, Ariana!”
Grande previously supported Democratic nominee Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election in her home state of Florida, urging her followers to vote early. The “eternal sunshine” singer has also performed at the White House, entertaining former President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama during the 2014 In Performance at the White House: Women of Soul event.
Looking ahead, Grande is preparing for her Eternal Sunshine Tour in 2026, promoting her seventh studio album of the same name—her first tour in seven years. She is also set to star in the theatrical release of Wicked: For Good, the second half of Jon M. Chu’s Wizard of Oz prequel, playing Glinda on Nov. 21, and will appear in the upcoming Meet the Parents 4.
