Britney Spears has once again stepped away from Instagram after sharing a series of concerning posts and engaging in a public disagreement over her ex-husband Kevin Federline’s new memoir.
As of Sunday, Nov. 2, Spears’ Instagram profile was unavailable, with a message noting that her “profile may have been removed.”
Fans Express Concern Over Spears’ Recent Posts
In recent weeks, fans voiced concern after the 43-year-old singer shared videos of herself dancing in her living room, while disabling comments and pairing them with cryptic captions referencing her sons, Jayden James, 19, and Sean Preston, 20.
In one post from Oct. 7, Spears appeared with bruises on her arms and bandages on her hands and wrists. She explained in the caption that she had fallen down stairs and mentioned her sons’ return to Hawaii, where they live with Federline, 47.
“My boys had to leave and go back to Maui,” she wrote, adding that dancing was how she expresses herself and “prays through art.” She continued, “I’m not here for concern or pity, I just want to be a good woman and be better … and I do have wonderful support, so have a brilliant day !!!” Spears also added, “Psss I fell down the stairs at my friend’s house … it was horrible. It snaps out now and then, not sure if it’s broken but for now it’s snapped in !!! Thank u god.”

Reflections on Past Trauma
In another post shared on Oct. 19, Spears appeared to reflect on her time in rehab in 2018 during her 13-year conservatorship, saying that “brain damage happened to me.” She paired a photo of herself on horseback with a caption referencing her shoulder blades as “wings” and drew comparisons to Maleficent, writing about resilience and divine protection.
She wrote, “Her wings were holy so the king couldn’t take them … not that this has any relevance with me but I do find it incredibly interesting…” Spears also described a “traumatic experience” she said she detailed “at the end” of her 2023 memoir, The Woman in Me, recalling a four-month period when she was “illegally forced to not use [her] feet or body to go anywhere.”
Dispute Over Kevin Federline’s Memoir
Federline’s memoir, You Thought You Knew, includes claims about Spears, their marriage, and her relationship with their sons. Excerpts shared by The New York Times, USA Today, and E! Online allege troubling behavior, cheating, and his fears that “something bad” might happen to her.
On Oct. 15, Spears took to X to accuse Federline of “constantly gaslighting” her, defending her bond with her children. “To be loved unconditionally and with a naive heart like mine, always being threatened or made to believe I’m the bad one as they profit off my pain…” she wrote. “Oh dear Jesus show me there is a God and I can too be loved unconditionally and not have to be so perfect cause it’s really interesting.”

Spears Responds to Federline’s Public Remarks
Spears also criticized Federline’s recent interviews, accusing him of “literally attacking” her in the media. “Why is HE SO ANGRY,” she asked. “And what’s scary is he’s convincing. It literally blows my mind the moments he stops before he cries are you f—ing serious …”
Statement from Spears’ Representative
A representative for Spears responded to the memoir’s release and allegations in a statement shared on Oct. 14:
“With news from Kevin’s book breaking, once again he and others are profiting off her and sadly it comes after child support has ended with Kevin. All she cares about are her kids, Sean Preston and Jayden James, and their well-being during this sensationalism. She detailed her journey in her memoir.”
