President Donald Trump’s approval rating has fallen to 38%, marking the lowest point of his second (non-consecutive) term, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday (June 11).
The survey shows Trump with 38% approval and 54% disapproval — the first time his support has dipped below 40% since his inauguration in January. His approval rating has been on a steady decline throughout the year, starting at 46% on January 29, then falling to 45% in February, 42% in March, and 41% in April.
Immigration remains Trump’s strongest issue area, with 43% approval and 54% disapproval. However, even that has slipped from April’s 45% approval and 50% disapproval. His handling of deportations also dropped slightly to 40% approval (down from 42%) and 56% disapproval.
Other key issue ratings from the poll include:
- Economy: 40% approve, 55% disapprove
- Trade: 38% approve
- Universities/Education: 37% approve
- Israel-Hamas conflict: 35% approve
- Russia-Ukraine war: 34% approve
“With the Russia–Ukraine conflict entering its third year, Americans clearly aren’t satisfied with the Trump administration’s approach,” said Quinnipiac polling analyst Tim Malloy.
Despite this particular poll, Trump’s average approval rating across major polls stands at 47.4%, with a 49.5% disapproval rating, according to Decision Desk HQ.
