Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) on Saturday praised President Donald Trump for authorizing airstrikes on three of Iran’s nuclear facilities, calling the action “the correct move.”
“Iran is the world’s leading sponsor of terrorism and cannot have nuclear capabilities,” Fetterman said. “I’m grateful for and salute the finest military in the world.”
Fetterman, a strong supporter of Israel, has consistently backed firm U.S. action against Iran and Hamas—positions that have occasionally put him at odds with other members of his party.
President Trump announced the operation after its completion. In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, he stated:
“The U.S. completed a very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. All planes are now outside of Iran air space. A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. All planes are safely on their way home. Congratulations to our great American Warriors. There is not another military in the World that could have done this. NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE!”
Iranian state media has confirmed the strikes on the three nuclear sites.
Earlier this week, Trump had indicated that he would decide within two weeks whether to launch a strike. However, the decision appears to have been accelerated after Iranian officials rejected any possibility of halting uranium enrichment—a key demand in previous diplomatic efforts.
