Ghislaine Maxwell is reportedly preparing to request a commutation of her 20-year federal prison sentence from President Donald Trump, according to multiple news outlets.

The 63-year-old former British socialite, convicted for her role in s*x trafficking minors alongside financier Jeffrey Epstein, is currently serving her sentence at the minimum-security federal prison camp in Bryan, Texas.

According to reports from NBC and CBS, Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee sent a letter to Trump on Monday, Nov. 10, stating that Maxwell intends to submit the commutation application for review by his administration. NBC cited a whistleblower source, while CBS referenced a letter obtained by committee Democrats.

Per CBS, the letter claims that the committee received information “either that Ms. Maxwell is herself requesting you release her from her 20-year prison sentence for her role as a co-conspirator in Jeffrey Epstein’s international child s*x trafficking ring, or that this child s*x predator now holds such tremendous sway in the second Trump Administration that you and your DOJ will follow her clemency recommendations.”

A source close to Maxwell stated that “nobody knows what the President will do.” Trump previously had social ties with Epstein, and his name appeared in Epstein’s flight logs released earlier this year.

The committee’s letter also alleges that Maxwell is receiving “concierge-style” privileges at FPC Bryan. NBC News noted that the facility features dormitory housing, a low staff-to-inmate ratio, and little to no perimeter fencing—conditions considered more lenient than those at her prior facility, FCI Tallahassee.

In a statement, Sigrid McCawley, attorney for several Epstein survivors including Virginia Giuffre, called the reported effort “deeply disturbing and offensive to the survivors of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell,” adding that granting Maxwell any privilege “would be the greatest miscarriage of justice.”

Maxwell has reportedly been seeking clemency or a pardon from Trump in exchange for information about Epstein’s former associates. Earlier this year, she spoke with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche about as many as 100 ex-associates and was subpoenaed to testify before Congress. The hearing has since been postponed. Maxwell has indicated she will invoke her Fifth Amendment rights unless granted immunity from prosecution.
