The House Oversight Committee recently published a significant collection of materials from the estate of the late Jeffrey Epstein. Donald Trump — whose name appears multiple times within the files — is once again facing questions about his past connection to the convicted sex offender.
Speaking aboard Air Force One on Friday, Nov. 14, the 79-year-old president said he “doesn’t care” if additional documents are released, according to footage shared online by the White House.
“You have to go into Epstein’s friends,” Trump added, referencing Reid Hoffman and Bill Clinton while omitting any mention of himself, despite previously having been friendly with Epstein.
Earlier in the week, Trump called for federal investigators to examine the tech billionaire and former U.S. president after more than 20,000 pages of Epstein-related records were made public.
In a Truth Social statement posted Nov. 14, Trump dismissed the files as a “hoax” and attempted to distance himself from the narrative.

He also alleged that Democrats are highlighting emails that reference him to distract from the end of a historic government shutdown. Trump said he has directed Attorney General Pam Bondi to instruct the Justice Department to investigate Epstein’s ties with several other prominent figures and institutions, including Hoffman and Clinton. Bondi later confirmed that the investigation is underway.
Among the documents released this week is an alleged February 2017 email in which Epstein described Trump as “dangerous.”
In the message — reportedly sent to Treasury Secretary Larry Summers weeks after Trump’s first inauguration — Epstein wrote, per ABC News: “Recall ive told you,, — i have met some very bad people ,, none as bad as trump. not one decent cell in his body.. so yes- dangerous.”
When responding to the revelation on Nov. 13, White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson argued that the disclosure is merely an attempt to shift attention away from the government’s reopening.
“These emails prove literally nothing,” Jackson said in a statement. “Liberal outlets are desperately trying to use this Democrat distraction to talk about anything other than Democrats getting utterly defeated by President Trump in the shutdown fight.”
She added that the administration will remain focused on its agenda, including what Trump has branded as “Making America Affordable Again.”
Epstein died by suicide in August 2019 while being held in New York City’s Metropolitan Correctional Center. At the time, he had pleaded not guilty to federal charges involving sex trafficking of minors.
The newly surfaced documents relate to the late financier and his network. During his campaign, Trump had previously promised full transparency before later shifting his stance.
