A man accused of vandalizing the office of acting U.S. Attorney Alina Habba — who was appointed to the position by President Donald Trump in March — has been taken into custody.
Keith Michael Lisa, 51, was arrested in connection with the incident, according to a Nov. 15 statement from FBI spokesperson Emily Molinari, per the Associated Press. No details were shared regarding the timing or location of the arrest, and officials have not confirmed a possible motive.
According to information previously shared on the FBI’s official website, Lisa allegedly tried to enter the Peter W. Rodino Federal Building in Newark, N.J., on Nov. 12 while carrying a bat. After initially being denied entry, authorities say he returned without the weapon and made his way to Habba’s office, where he proceeded to damage government property.

A federal arrest warrant was issued the following day, charging Lisa with possession of a dangerous weapon in a federal facility and depredation of federal property.
U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi acknowledged the arrest in a post on X, praising federal agencies for their work in locating the suspect and emphasizing that threats or intimidation toward U.S. Attorneys will not be tolerated.

Habba reposted Bondi’s message, thanking the FBI, Homeland Security Investigations, and the U.S. Marshals Service. “We got him,” she wrote, adding that federal authorities “will not tolerate any acts of intimidation or violence toward law enforcement.”
Habba previously served as Trump’s personal attorney and was part of his 2024 presidential campaign legal team. Trump appointed her as acting U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey in March 2025; however, a federal judge ruled the appointment unlawful in August. Habba is currently challenging that decision, according to AP.
