Donald Trump Explains Why His Voice Sounds Hoarse in Press Conference: Because ‘I Blew My Stack’

President Donald Trump clarified why his voice sounded unusually raspy during a press briefing on Nov. 17.

When a reporter asked if he was feeling well because his “voice sounds a little rough,” Trump attributed it to a heated dispute earlier in the day. He said he had “blown [his] stack” at people who were “being stupid about something having to do with trade.”

“I was shouting at people because they were stupid about something having to do with trade, and I straightened it all out,” Trump responded. “But I blew my stack at these people.”

The moment followed a series of tense encounters Trump has had with the press. On Nov. 14, while speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, he sharply shut down a Bloomberg journalist who asked whether there was anything “incriminating” in emails tied to Jeffrey Epstein — the convicted sex trafficker and former Trump associate. Trump pointed his finger and told her, “Quiet. Quiet, Piggy.”

The question came after House Democrats released three emails on Nov. 12 related to Epstein’s connection with Trump. Epstein wrote that Trump allegedly “knew about the girls,” and that he had spent “hours” at Epstein’s home with a victim.

In addition to press clashes, Trump has recently been navigating tensions within his own party. His once close relationship with Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has deteriorated after months of disputes. On Nov. 15, Trump stated on Truth Social that he would no longer endorse her, calling the congresswoman a “ranting lunatic.”

On Nov. 17, even after Greene publicly said she was receiving death threats, Trump continued to attack her, referring to her as a “traitor.”

“Marjorie ‘Traitor’ Greene. I don’t think her life is in danger,” he told a reporter. “I don’t think. Frankly, I don’t think anybody cares about her.”

Greene, 51, wrote in a post on X that she had been contacted by private security firms warning her of risks, saying threats were “being fueled and egged on by the most powerful man in the world,” in reference to Trump.
