Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker are ending their marriage after 11 years together.

In a statement, Burruss, 49, shared that she has decided to move forward with a divorce after “deep thought and a lot of prayer.” She called it a “difficult and emotional time,” adding that her priority now is protecting her peace, being the best mother she can be, and continuing to co-parent with “love and respect.”

She said she’s stepping into a new chapter focused on her work, family, and personal growth, and asked for privacy, grace, and understanding as they navigate the transition with their loved ones.

Burruss and Tucker, 52, met in 2011 while filming season 4 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. They got engaged in January 2013 and married in April 2014. During their relationship, they welcomed two children: son Ace, 9, and daughter Blaze, 5. Both also have children from previous relationships — Burruss is mom to Riley, 23, and Tucker is dad to Kaela, 29.

Over the years, the couple frequently appeared together on Bravo and built multiple businesses side by side, including a Georgia-based soul food restaurant chain, a trucking company, and a family-focused Bravo series tied to their restaurant venture.

Back in 2022, Burruss credited their strong bond to staying connected through communication and fun, saying they had a real understanding of each other.

Most recently, Burruss was honored with the Wifetime Achievement Award at The Bravos during BravoCon 2025 in Las Vegas on Nov. 14. During her acceptance speech, she thanked Tucker for standing by her through the highs, lows, and relentless public attention surrounding their lives.

Beyond reality TV, Burruss has expanded her career in theater. After making her Broadway debut in Chicago in 2018, she is set to return to Broadway on Dec. 11 in & Juliet, running through March 8. She has also made a name for herself as a producer, earning a Tony nomination for The Piano Lesson and backing acclaimed revivals such as The Wiz, The Piano Lesson, Thoughts of a Colored Man, and last season’s Othello, led by Denzel Washington and Jake Gyllenhaal.

In the past, Burruss said their ambitions were closely aligned and that they consistently supported each other’s big ideas and dreams.

To celebrate their eighth anniversary in March 2022, Burruss posted a montage of moments from their years together set to her song “Forever Love” featuring Q. Parker, writing, “We’ve got that forever kind of love! Happy Anniversary my love!!! @todd167 … 8 years down & a lifetime to go!”
