President Donald Trump on Wednesday lashed out at CNN journalist Natasha Bertrand, calling for her to be fired and thrown ‘like a dog’.
President Donald Trump launched a fierce attack on CNN journalist Natasha Bertrand on Wednesday, calling for her to be fired and “thrown out like a dog” over her reporting on the recent U.S. airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities.
“Natasha Bertrand should be FIRED from CNN! I watched her for three days doing Fake News,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “She should be IMMEDIATELY reprimanded, and then thrown out ‘like a dog.’ She lied on the Laptop from Hell story, and now she lied on the Nuclear Sites story, attempting to destroy our Patriot Pilots by making them look bad when, in fact, they did a GREAT job and hit ‘pay dirt’ — TOTAL OBLITERATION!”
Trump went on to criticize Bertrand’s qualifications, accusing her of contributing to CNN’s “fall from credibility.”
“Her slant was so obviously negative. Besides, she doesn’t have what it takes to be an on-camera correspondent, not even close. FIRE NATASHA!” he added.
As of now, CNN and Bertrand have not responded to Trump’s remarks.
Why Is Trump Going After Bertrand?
The outburst followed Bertrand’s exclusive CNN report earlier that day, which cited an initial U.S. intelligence assessment suggesting that the airstrikes on Iran’s key nuclear sites in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan had not achieved Trump’s promised “total obliteration” of Iran’s nuclear program.
According to the report, enriched uranium stockpiles and key infrastructure largely remained intact—contradicting claims by Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth that the operation was a complete success.
Trump claimed that Bertrand’s reporting was part of a politically motivated leak designed to undermine both his presidency and the efforts of U.S. military personnel, particularly B-2 bomber pilots who executed the mission.
Who Is Natasha Bertrand?
Natasha Bertrand, born in 1992, is CNN’s national security correspondent. She studied political science and philosophy at Vassar College, where she developed a strong interest in foreign affairs.
She began her journalism career as a research intern for NBC News in Madrid before joining Business Insider in 2014, covering U.S. politics and global affairs. Bertrand rose to prominence for her reporting on U.S.–Russia relations and the Trump–Russia investigation while at The Atlantic and Politico.
Since joining CNN in 2021, Bertrand has become a key figure in reporting on national security, covering high-profile stories like intelligence leaks, the Afghanistan withdrawal, and the Iran nuclear crisis.
Her recent reporting has once again placed her at the center of political controversy, with Trump now openly calling for her dismissal.
