US President Donald Trump on Thursday unveiled a broad new set of immigration proposals in a sharply worded post, saying he would “permanently pause migration from all Third World Countries” and initiate what he called “reverse migration” to restore order in the United States.
Trump claimed that current immigration policies had weakened the country despite technological progress, arguing that the US needed time “to fully recover.” He vowed to terminate what he described as “millions of Biden illegal admissions,” including those he alleged were approved under President Joe Biden’s “Autopen,” and said he would remove anyone he considers “not a net asset to the United States” or “incapable of loving our Country.”
He further pledged to end all federal benefits for non-citizens, revoke the citizenship of migrants who “undermine domestic tranquility,” and deport any foreign national deemed a public charge, security threat, or “non-compatible with Western Civilization.”
According to Trump, only “reverse migration” could address what he characterized as illegal and destabilizing population growth.
He ended his message with a starkly divisive holiday note: “HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL, except those that hate, steal, murder, and destroy everything that America stands for, You won’t be here for long!”
National Guard Soldier Killed in DC Shooting
The White House confirmed that US Army Spc. Sarah Beckstrom, a National Guard soldier from West Virginia, died after being shot at close range in central Washington, DC, shortly before Thanksgiving.
The shooting took place just blocks from the White House and prompted swift condemnation from federal officials. Authorities identified the alleged gunman as 29-year-old Afghan national Rahmanullah Lakanwal, who arrived in the United States in 2021. Officials believe he acted alone.
Second Guardsman Remains Hospitalized
A second National Guard member injured in the attack remains hospitalized, according to early updates cited by the administration. Officials have not publicly released the soldier’s name but confirmed that he continues to receive critical care. Investigators from multiple federal agencies are tracking his condition as part of the broader investigation into the shooting.
Trump has repeatedly highlighted the suspect’s Afghan origin, claiming that he entered the country through what he called the prior administration’s “autopen approval process.” He argued that the case illustrates an “urgent need” for far stricter immigration controls.
