Brian ‘Liver King’ Johnson was arrested in Austin for making a terroristic threat. Possible at Joe Rogan?
Fitness influencer Brian “Liver King” Johnson, known for promoting an “ancestral lifestyle,” was arrested in Austin, Texas, on June 24 after being charged with making a terroristic threat—a Class B misdemeanor under Texas law.
According to local outlet KXAN, authorities deemed Johnson’s recent behavior threatening, although they have not officially stated who the alleged threat was directed toward.
Under Texas law, a terroristic threat involves any statement or action that causes someone to feel seriously endangered or creates public panic. The charge can result in up to 180 days in jail and a fine of up to $2,000.
Was Joe Rogan the Target?
While police remain tight-lipped, speculation online has tied the arrest to a series of cryptic Instagram videos Johnson posted just a day before his arrest—videos that appear to challenge podcaster and UFC commentator Joe Rogan.
In one video from June 23, Liver King says directly:
“Joe Rogan, I’m calling you out. My name’s Liver King. Man to man, I’m picking a fight with you… Your rules, I’ll come to you, whenever you’re ready.”
He followed up with multiple Instagram Stories, including one showing him in Austin and saying:
“Hey, Joe Rogan, we’re taking a quick pit stop to grab a couple of treats. That’s how we do it here. Welcome to Texas.”
In another post, he added:
“I’m in kind of a fight mode… might have a double-shot energy drink. That’s what I’m thinking. What would you drink?”
Later, Johnson shared a video appearing to show his own arrest. In the clip, conspiracy theorist Alex Jones commented:
“The Austin Police Department, as we speak, is on their way to a hotel in downtown Austin to arrest the Liver King because he has been making a lot of bizarre, cryptic threats to Joe Rogan.”
No official confirmation has been made linking the arrest directly to Rogan, but the timing and content of Johnson’s social media posts have fueled speculation online.
