Dubai-based TV Host Wissam Breidy was on a flight with his wife and two kids when Iran attacked the US Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar.
Dubai-based television host Wissam Breidy shared a chilling photo on Instagram of what appeared to be Iranian missiles streaking through the sky—captured from his plane window as he flew with his family. The unsettling moment occurred shortly after Iran launched missiles at U.S. bases in Qatar.
Breidy, traveling with his wife and two young daughters, described the experience as deeply personal and emotionally intense. “I was born in Lebanon—a place where many of us didn’t just witness conflict, we ran from it,” he wrote. “You grow up thinking you’ve seen it all.”
But the sight of missiles mid-air while in a plane, with his family onboard, brought back that old fear—this time magnified. “Watching from the window as missiles lit up the skies above Qatar… it’s not your own life that scares you. It’s the lives of those you love more than anything in the world,” he added.
Breidy praised the calm professionalism of the pilot, crediting him with maintaining composure during what he called a “terrifying situation.” He also expressed gratitude toward the UAE, saying the country always feels like a place of “order and strength” amid chaos.
The Instagram post included several photos, including one haunting image of glowing missile trails in the night sky, reportedly taken during the flight.
Qatar Confirms Missile Interception
Following the incident, Qatari officials confirmed that missiles launched under Iran’s Operation Basharat al-Fath targeted Al Udeid Air Base, a key U.S. military installation. Authorities stated the missiles were intercepted successfully, and no casualties were reported.
Scenes of Panic on the Ground
Meanwhile, social media videos from Doha showed panicked civilians rushing out of malls and public places during the missile alert. The strikes caused widespread fear but ultimately resulted in no direct damage, according to official statements.
