Authorities in New Jersey are searching for a 22-year-old college student who has been missing for nearly two weeks.
Mortimer “Morty” Wortman was last seen around 10:30 p.m. local time on Nov. 21 in a wooded area near High Bridge Road in Jackson, N.J., according to a bulletin shared by the Jackson Police Department.
His car was later located in the parking lot of the Regional Day School in Jackson, according to Staten Island Live.
Wortman’s older brother, Ivan Marks, told the Asbury Park Press that Morty was last with an acquaintance who later reported him missing. There have been no significant developments since then, Marks said, adding, “We’re still in limbo.”
Wortman is a student at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, according to a Facebook post from the school. University officials said they are working closely with police as the investigation into his disappearance continues.
