Marjorie Taylor Greene is firing back after Donald Trump insulted her on social media following her recent 60 Minutes appearance.

Speaking to CBS News on Wednesday, Dec. 10, the 51-year-old congresswoman addressed Trump’s Truth Social post from Monday, Dec. 8, in which he called her “Marjorie ‘Traitor’ Brown (Green turns Brown under stress!),” claimed she had gone “BAD” and suggested she had been “JILTED” by him.

“She sort of reminds me of a Rotten Apple!” Trump, 79, wrote, later also calling her “a very dumb person.”

Responding to those remarks, Greene told CBS News, “I actually am starting to feel very sorry for President Trump.”

“It’s actually a very poor reflection on him that he chooses to speak about me that way,” she added, referring to his reaction to her widely discussed interview with Lesley Stahl that aired Sunday, Dec. 7.

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Greene has represented Georgia’s 14th congressional district since January 2021 and was long seen as a strong ally of Trump and his agenda. In recent months, however, the two have clashed, with Greene openly criticizing some of his decisions.

Among other things, she has called out what she described as his administration’s reluctance to release files related to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

In November, Trump declared that Greene had “lost her way” and rescinded his endorsement. He also labeled her a “traitor” the day after she said she was “being contacted by private security firms with warnings for my safety as a hot bed of threats against me are being fueled and egged on by the most powerful man in the world.”

On Nov. 21, Greene announced that she would resign from Congress effective Jan. 5, 2026, saying that members of her own party had treated her in ways she considered “unfair” and “wrong.”

In her Wednesday comments to CBS News, Greene criticized Trump’s pattern of talking about women — behavior she noted he has often directed at female members of the White House Correspondents’ Association.

“He always continues to speak about women like this, and that’s something that women all over the country pay attention to,” she said, according to the outlet. “I think the Republican Party needs to take a hard look at it, because the Republican Party has a very difficult time with women voting for them.”

“It’s unfortunate that President Trump thinks loyalty is a one-way street. It’s really not,” she continued. “I do feel sorry for him, because I think he’s extremely unaware, and I don’t know how he can be unaware about this, but he’s not aware of how it makes him really look.”

Greene’s latest remarks follow comments she made on 60 Minutes, where she said some of her fellow Republicans in Congress are “terrified to step out of line” with Trump for fear he might target them with “a nasty Truth Social post.”

After referencing Trump’s deep support within the party in Congress, Stahl asked her, “Behind the scenes, do they talk differently?”

“Yes … oh, it would shock people,” Greene replied, prompting Stahl to say, “Well, let’s shock people.”

Greene then claimed, “I watched many of my colleagues go from making fun of him, making fun of how he talks, making fun of me constantly for supporting him, to when he won the primary in 2024, they all started — excuse my language, Lesley — kissing his ass, and decided to put on a MAGA hat for the first time.”
