Police in Boulder, Colorado, are asking the public to help reunite a lost wedding ring with its owner.
On Monday, Dec. 15, the Boulder Police Department (BPD) shared a photo of a silver-colored wedding band on social media and said the ring had been turned in after being found on Nov. 8 in the parking lot of the Gondolier Italian Eatery, near Baseline Road and Foothills Parkway.
According to BPD, the community member who found it first tried to locate the owner through social media, but after coming up empty, brought the ring to the department on Nov. 17.
“The tiny piece of jewelry was so small it was easy to miss,” BPD wrote in the post.
The ring is described as silver and engraved on the inside with the wedding date “June 6, 1953,” along with the couple’s initials. In their post, BPD noted that the date points to 72 years of marriage this year, calling it a meaningful reminder of a long-lasting love story.
BPD is asking anyone who recognizes the ring or has information about its owner to contact the department’s Property and Evidence Unit at 303-441-3340.
“We think [the ring] means a lot to that couple, and we’d like to return it to them if possible, so we’re asking for our community’s help,” BPD said. “We’re hoping for a Christmas miracle. Can you help us make it happen, Boulder?”
