Lauren Sánchez Bezos Shares Behind-the-Scenes Footage from Her Wedding to Jeff Bezos in Honor of Her 56th Birthday

Lauren Sánchez Bezos is honoring where she’s been as she steps into what’s next.

The Emmy-winning journalist turned 56 on Friday, Dec. 19, and marked the milestone by posting an Instagram reel filled with standout moments from the past year — including her wedding to Jeff Bezos, 61.

Sánchez Bezos married the Amazon founder in a star-studded ceremony on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice, Italy, on Friday, June 27.

The couple celebrated their Italian nuptials over several days, surrounded by friends including Oprah Winfrey, Gayle King, Orlando Bloom, Kim Kardashian, Khloé Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Kylie Jenner, Karlie Kloss, Leonardo DiCaprio, Usher and Tom Brady.

In the reel, Sánchez Bezos shared behind-the-scenes glimpses from the festivities, including a clip of her rehearsing her walk in a lace Dolce & Gabbana wedding gown. Another moment showed her smiling on a balcony, sunlit and beaming, with the Eiffel Tower visible in the distance. She also included snapshots that appeared to be from wedding prep, including a photo of her wearing a face mask while working out.

“Another trip around the sun and if you had told me when I was a little girl this is what life would look like at 56, I’m not sure I would’ve believed you… and it’s not even about the big moments,” she wrote in her caption. “The wedding was beautiful, but what stayed with me were our kids’ words.”

Sánchez Bezos and Bezos share a blended family. Bezos has four children, and Sánchez Bezos has three: son Nikko, 24, with ex Tony Gonzalez, and son Evan, 19, and daughter Ella, 17, with ex Patrick Whitesell.

She also used the post to highlight other major milestones from the year, including publishing her first book, The Fly Who Flew to Space, taking a round-trip mission to the edge of space with Blue Origin, and dropping her son Evan off at college.

“Going to space gave me an unexpected clarity,” she wrote. “Dropping one child off at college, watching another get accepted this year and one building a life of his own has grounded me in a way nothing else could. Releasing the book shifted something too.”

She added that hearing from children who struggle with dyslexia and other learning disabilities made the year feel even more meaningful, and said the moments that mattered most were the quieter ones — centered on “family, work, and growth.”

“As I step into this next year, I’m keeping it simple: stay open to what’s unfolding. ‘Once you believe, signs are everywhere,’ ” she wrote.
