A spokesperson for former President Bill Clinton issued a statement Monday calling on President Donald Trump and Attorney General Pam Bondi to release all records and images involving Clinton tied to the Epstein Files Transparency Act.
Why It Matters
The DOJ’s ongoing publication of materials connected to Jeffrey Epstein has renewed scrutiny of prominent figures who had contact with him. Epstein, a convicted sex offender, moved in circles that included powerful and well-known individuals around the world.
Clinton appears in some of the newly released photographs and documents. As debate over the disclosures escalates, Clinton’s spokesperson is urging the administration to make the record public in full—arguing that the releases so far appear selective and raising questions about transparency, victim-protective redactions and whether politics are influencing what is disclosed and when.
What Did Bill Clinton’s Spokesperson Say About the Files Release?
In a statement posted Monday on X by Clinton spokesperson Angel Ureña, Ureña said in part: “The Epstein Files Transparency Act imposes a clear legal duty on the U.S. Department of Justice to produce the full and complete record the public demands and deserves.”
Ureña continued: “However, what the Department of Justice has released so far, and the manner in which it did so, makes one thing clear: someone or something is being protected. We do not know whom, what or why. But we do know this: We need no such protection.”
The DOJ began releasing Epstein-related materials on December 19 under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, a law signed by Trump requiring the declassification and publication of nearly all federal records related to Epstein and his network.
The first major release included thousands of documents and photographs, some depicting public figures—including Clinton, Michael Jackson and Chris Tucker—appearing in social settings with Epstein. Several images were undated, and many portions of the materials were redacted.
None of those individuals have been accused of wrongdoing related to Epstein’s crimes.
Bill Clinton Pictured in Epstein Files Release: What We Know
Some of the images released by the DOJ show Clinton in casual and social environments, including poolside settings, as well as at cultural gatherings alongside Epstein, his former associate Ghislaine Maxwell and others. The materials do not specify when or where the photos were taken.
What People Are Saying
Republican Congressman Thomas Massie wrote on X Monday: “The survivors deserve justice. The DOJ release does not comply with the Epstein Files Transparency Act and does not provide what the survivors are guaranteed under the new law.”
Bondi wrote on X Sunday: “The Department of Justice previously stated we will bring charges against anyone involved in the trafficking and exploitation of Jeffrey Epstein’s victims. We reaffirm this commitment, and ask any victim to please come forward with any information pertaining to any individuals who engaged in illicit activity at their expense. We have met with many victims and victims groups, and will continue to do so if more reach out. Please contact myself, DAG Blanche, or the FBI and we will investigate immediately. We believe in the equal standard of justice in this country and will ensure that Justice is served.”
What Happens Next
The DOJ says more files will be released in stages, while maintaining protections to prevent victims from being identified.
