Amazon is bringing back its Thank My Driver campaign for the holidays, letting customers send their delivery driver an extra $5 tip — paid by Amazon, not the customer.
How to thank your driver
Customers have a few ways to send thanks:
- Say “Alexa, thank my driver” using an Alexa-enabled device or the Alexa app
- Search “thank my driver” on the Amazon website or mobile app and follow the prompts
Key rules to know
There are a couple of limitations:
- You can only thank the driver for your most recent delivery made within the last 14 days, according to Amazon.
- The promotion applies only to drivers delivering Amazon packages in the United States, including Amazon Flex delivery partners and Hub Delivery Associates.
Extra awards for top-thanked drivers
Amazon Flex said the promotion will be capped at 2 million “thank yous.” After that cap is reached, the 200 most-thanked Amazon Flex delivery partners each day can earn a $100 award through Dec. 31. Each driver can receive only one $100 award.
Amazon also said drivers will be notified when they receive compliments, noting in a statement on its website that it wants to show appreciation and strengthen the connection between drivers and customers.
Once a thank-you is submitted, Amazon says it can’t be canceled.
The Thank My Driver campaign first launched in 2022. Since then, Amazon Flex says customers have thanked drivers more than 46 million times.
