Mickey Lee, a contestant on the most recent season of CBS’ Big Brother, has died. She was 35.

Lee’s family shared the news in an Instagram post on Dec. 26, saying she died on Christmas in the early evening. In their message, they remembered her as someone whose authenticity, strength, and spirit resonated with viewers and those who knew her personally, adding that she’ll be remembered for the joy she brought and the connections she made on and off screen.

In the days before her death, Lee had been hospitalized in the ICU after suffering what a GoFundMe created on Dec. 22 described as a “series of cardiac arrests.”

Bayleigh Pelham added that she was thankful Lee got to live out a once-in-a-lifetime experience on the show and share her light with the world, saying she felt honored to have met her and expressing love for Lee’s family and friends.
