Britney Spears is weighing in after several members of her family — including her son Preston and her mother, Lynne — spent Christmas in Louisiana with her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears.

The “Gimme More” singer, 44, shared an Instagram post on Sunday, Dec. 28 featuring a photo of a Christmas tree and a caption that read like a sharply sarcastic nod to her family’s holiday gathering.

“Merry late Christmas to my beautiful family who have never disrespected me, harmed me, ever done anything completely unacceptable or caused unbelievable trauma, the kind you can’t fix…,” she wrote. “To my dear sweet innocent family … so so sorry I was busy this Christmas but I will definitely show up and surprise you soon … I can’t wait.”

She ended her message by addressing Jamie Lynn’s “beautiful” 7-year-old daughter, Ivey: “I just want to hold you, my love … Godspeed, friends.”

Britney previously spent Christmas with her son Jayden, 19, whom she shares with ex-husband Kevin Federline.

“Britney had a fun time celebrating Christmas with Jayden — it’s been such a special holiday,” the source said.

Preston, 20, meanwhile, celebrated the holiday with his grandmother Lynne, 70, his aunt Jamie Lynn, 34, and Jamie Lynn’s daughters Maddie, 17, and Ivey — a gathering Jamie Lynn shared in a photo on Instagram.

Britney has spoken before about her complicated relationship with family, including in her 2023 memoir The Woman in Me. In the book, she wrote that her “heart goes out” to Jamie Lynn for growing up in her shadow and navigating life as a child of divorce.

“She will always be my sister, and I love her and her beautiful family. I’m working to feel more compassion than anger toward her, and toward everyone who I feel has wronged me. It’s not easy,” Britney wrote.

Jamie Lynn has also shared her perspective publicly, saying in 2022 that she had “only ever tried to be helpful” regarding Britney’s conservatorship.

Britney and her mother also spent time together for the singer’s birthday in 2023. At the time, it was reported that Britney was “still hurt, because she feels like her mom could have done more to help her,” while Lynne was “really making an effort to be in Britney’s life.”

More recently, Federline said in November that Britney had been in contact with both of their sons following the release of his memoir You Thought You Knew.

“They absolutely love their mom, right? I mean, they always, always have, always will,” he said on Talk Shop Live. “It’s instilled in them. And I’ve always wanted for them to have a connection with their mom, the way I have with my mom.”
