A 91-year-old man died in a freak accident after a tree fell on him while he was watching a cricket match with his family in Australia.
The incident occurred at Gracedale Park in Ringwood East, a suburb of Melbourne, on Saturday, Jan. 10, at about 3 p.m., according to a statement from Victoria Police.
“It is understood a tree fell on the man,” police said, adding that “emergency services worked on the man, but he sadly died at the scene.”
Police said they are not treating the death as suspicious. A report will be prepared for the coroner outlining the circumstances of the incident.
Authorities said the man had stopped to watch a cricket match with his family, according to Knox News. His name has not been released.

Players and fellow spectators ran to help, and one player performed CPR before paramedics arrived. The man could not be revived and died at the scene, according to 7News.
Cricket Victoria, the governing body for the sport in the state, said it is supporting players and volunteers who witnessed what happened.
“Cricket Victoria extends our condolences to the family and friends of the individual who tragically lost his life on Saturday,” the organization said.
