Kiefer Sutherland was arrested in Los Angeles early Monday, Jan. 12, after police responded to a reported incident in Hollywood.
According to LAPD officer Kevin Terzes, officers were called to the area near Sunset Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue at around 12:15 a.m. Terzes said investigators determined that Sutherland entered a rideshare vehicle, allegedly assaulted the driver and made criminal threats.
Sutherland was arrested at the scene on suspicion of making criminal threats, Terzes said, citing California Penal Code section 422. Police added that the alleged victim did not require medical treatment at the scene.
Court and jail records show Sutherland was booked around the time of the incident and later released Monday on a $50,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Feb. 2, according to those records.
The case remains under investigation by detectives from the LAPD’s Hollywood Division.
