US President Donald Trump was filmed in a tense, on-camera exchange with a Ford Motor Company worker during a visit to a manufacturing plant, after the man allegedly shouted “pedophile protector” at him.

The moment quickly spread online, drawing strong reactions across social media. In the clip—first shared by TMZ—Trump appears to pause as someone yells from the crowd. He is then seen mouthing “f**k you,” briefly raising his middle finger in that person’s direction, and then continuing to wave at other attendees.

The exchange reportedly happened during Trump’s visit to the Ford facility on Tuesday and was captured from multiple angles.

TMZ said the worker’s remark was aimed at Jeffrey Epstein, the late financier and convicted sex offender whose past ties to prominent figures, including Trump, continue to attract scrutiny. The outburst also appeared to reflect ongoing public frustration over delays and redactions related to the release of Epstein-linked files—materials that were approved for disclosure during Trump’s second term but have not yet been fully made public.

After the footage went viral, the White House defended the president’s response. Speaking to CNN, a spokesperson described the individual as “a lunatic wildly screaming expletives in a complete fit of rage,” adding that Trump’s reaction was “appropriate and unambiguous.”

Calls for the full release of Epstein-related documents have continued to shadow Trump’s presidency. Epstein, who was awaiting trial on charges of trafficking underage girls, died in a New York jail in 2019. His death was officially ruled a suicide, though it has been repeatedly questioned by conspiracy theorists, including some of Trump’s supporters.

Trump has signed bipartisan legislation mandating the release of the files, but the Department of Justice missed the December 19 deadline, citing the need to review more than two million documents.

The confrontation came the same day Trump spoke to the Detroit Economic Club. Moments from his speech—including a brief pause to clear his throat—sparked renewed speculation about his health among critics.

In the address, Trump pushed back on concerns about rising prices, arguing inflation remained low and blaming outgoing Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, as economic pressures continue to weigh on his approval ratings ahead of the November midterm elections.
