Katie Bates’ Husband Reveals He Cheated and Is ‘Getting Help,’ 1 Day After Bringing Up Bates Couple Announced Pregnancy Loss

Katie Bates’ husband, Travis Clark, said he was unfaithful and is now seeking help—just one day after the Bringing Up Bates couple shared that they had experienced a pregnancy loss.

Clark, 24, posted the confession to his Instagram Stories on Saturday, Jan. 17, a day after Bates announced they had lost their third baby.

“This is hard to write, but I owe the truth and I owe an apology. I was unfaithful to my wife. I had an affair and repeatedly broke her trust,” he wrote.

“There is no excuse for what I did. This was my failure and my responsibility alone. I know that words don’t begin to express the damage I caused or the depth of the hurt I’ve brought into her life, but I am truly sorry,” Clark continued.

He also apologized for “the pain, humiliation, and betrayal” he said his choices caused.

“I understand that an apology doesn’t repair what I broke, and forgiveness is not something I deserve or can ask for,” the musician added. “I am taking responsibility by getting help and doing the work to change and become a more honest and accountable man, regardless of outcome.”

Clark ended by asking for “privacy and grace for Katie” as she processes what happened “in her own time,” signing the message with his name.

Bates’ brother, Lawson Bates, appeared to reference the situation in an Instagram Reel that read: “One day, someone might tell your kids… ‘You’re just like your dad.’ Make sure it’s a compliment, not an insult.”

Bates and Clark welcomed their first child, daughter Hailey James, in February 2023. Their second child, son Harvey Gray, was born in September 2024.

The couple met in 2019 and began dating the following year. They later got engaged in April 2021 and married in December 2021.

Bates previously shared the pregnancy loss in an Instagram video posted on Jan. 16.

“I will spend the rest of my life missing you 🪽,” she wrote in the caption.
