Brooklyn Beckham Says Mom Victoria ‘Hijacked’ His Wedding Dance with Nicola Peltz and ‘Danced Very Inappropriately on Me’

Brooklyn Beckham is publicly addressing his estrangement from parents David and Victoria Beckham — and making explosive new claims about what he says happened at his 2022 wedding to Nicola Peltz Beckham.

In a series of Instagram Stories shared Monday, Jan. 19, Brooklyn, 26, alleged that his mother “hijacked” the couple’s planned first dance.

“My mum hijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned weeks in advance to a romantic love song,” he claimed. He said singer Marc Anthony called him to the stage — where Brooklyn believed the schedule called for his dance with Nicola — but alleged his mother was already there waiting to dance with him instead.

“She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone,” Brooklyn wrote, adding that he had “never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life.”

Brooklyn also tied the alleged moment to why he and Nicola chose to renew their vows in August 2025. “We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment,” he wrote. The couple originally married in Palm Beach in April 2022.

A rep for David and Victoria did not respond to a request for comment.

Brooklyn’s account echoes prior claims from someone close to Nicola’s family, who previously described an alleged wedding moment involving Marc Anthony. According to that person, Anthony — described as a friend of the Beckhams — performed at the wedding as a gift. Before a song began, the person claimed Anthony asked Brooklyn to come to the stage and then announced, “The most beautiful woman in the room tonight, come on up , , , Victoria Beckham!”

That person claimed the alleged moment deeply upset Nicola, saying she felt her wedding had been “ruined” and couldn’t understand why it happened. A second insider said the room went silent after Victoria’s name was called instead of Nicola’s, describing it as “such a jaw-dropping moment” that “you could hear a pin drop.”

In his new posts, Brooklyn also alleged tensions existed well before the wedding day. He claimed that the night before the ceremony, “members of my family told me that Nicola was ‘not blood’ and ‘not family.’ ” He further alleged that his “parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn’t stopped.”

Brooklyn also referenced reported friction over Nicola’s wedding gown. He claimed Nicola’s dress had been intended as a Victoria Beckham design, but alleged his mother backed out at the last moment. “My mum cancelled making Nicola’s dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress,” Brooklyn wrote.

He additionally claimed that during planning, his mother called him “evil” because he and Nicola chose to seat his Nanny Sandra and Nicola’s Naunni at their table, saying both women did not have their husbands. Brooklyn said both sets of parents had their own tables placed equally near the couple’s.

Brooklyn also made a striking allegation involving his name and branding. He claimed that weeks before the wedding, his parents “repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe” him into signing away rights to his name — something he said would have impacted him, Nicola, and their future children. He alleged they were “adamant” he sign before the wedding because the terms would begin then, and claimed his refusal “affected the payday,” adding that they “have never treated me the same since.”

Earlier this year, a source with knowledge of the situation said David and Victoria have asked Brooklyn and Nicola to meet and talk in an effort to move forward. “David loves his kids,” the person said, referring to Brooklyn and his siblings Romeo, 23, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 14, adding, “They are his everything.”

Multiple sources have also said David and Victoria have tried to make amends with Brooklyn and Nicola as the rift continued, with the dispute previously linked to tensions surrounding Nicola’s wedding gown. A source said in early May that the relationship “is definitely not beyond repair,” adding that David and Victoria “love and are always there for [Brooklyn]” but are “hurt and disappointed” that he’s “now playing no part in family life.”
