Guy Fieri just turned 58 — and he marked the day with a look no one saw coming.

In a video he posted on Instagram on Thursday, Jan. 22, the Food Network star appears in a surprisingly buttoned-up outfit: a checkered button-down shirt tucked into belted khaki trousers. The bigger shock, though, is the face and hair — his facial hair is gone, and his usual spiky, bleached-blond style has been swapped for neatly parted brown hair.

“Hey there! After so many years of celebrating my birthday as Guy, I figured this year I’d celebrate it as just a guy. Happy birthday to me!” he says in the clip, before leaning in to blow out the candles on his cake.

He kept the caption just as simple — and just as on-theme: “New Year. New Guy. New Look.”

Other celebrity chefs quickly jumped into the comments to celebrate the transformation.

Maneet Chauhan joked that Fieri turned his birthday into a gift for everyone else: “🤣🤣🤣🤣 it’s your b’day and you give us the gift of laughter! This is amazing Happy Happy Happy B’day @guyfieri.”

Fieri’s son Hunter also chimed in with a playful jab at the more corporate vibe: “Dad… when did you start selling insurance? 😂”

Hunter, 29, later shared a still from the video to his Instagram Stories, adding, “Happy Birthday to the Mayor! Love you dad/just a Guy.” Fieri also shares 20-year-old Ryder with his wife, Lori Fieri.

And while this new look may be temporary, one thing has been consistent over the years: Fieri’s style has always been his — not something invented for the cameras.

“Everybody asks, ‘How long does it take to do your hair?’ It takes …,” he once said, rubbing his hands back and forth over his head three times. “That’s how long.”

He has also pushed back on the idea that his hair and tattoos were a TV-era reinvention.

“People think I got tattoos and bleached my hair because I was going to be on TV,” he said. “I made those great decisions before I got here.”
