Four members of a Georgia family were found shot to death inside a Lawrenceville home after a 12-year-old child called 911 in the middle of the night and hid in a closet with two younger relatives, police said.
Officers responded to a report of gunshots and arrived at the residence early Friday morning, Jan. 23, according to the Gwinnett County Police Department. Inside, investigators found four victims dead. They were identified as Meemu Dogra, 43; Gourav Cumar, 33; Nidhi Chander, 37; and Harish Chander, 38.
Authorities arrested Dogra’s husband, Vijay Kumar, 51, on multiple charges, including malice murder and felony murder, police said.
Investigators said the 12-year-old—Kumar and Dogra’s child—called 911 around 2:30 a.m. on Friday to report the shooting. The child was discovered hiding in a closet with two young relatives, ages 7 and 10. Police said all three children were physically unharmed when officers arrived.

According to the investigation, Kumar and Dogra had an argument at their Atlanta home before traveling to the Lawrenceville residence, where relatives Cumar and the Chanders lived along with the two younger children.
Police said they have not determined what sparked the argument or why the couple went to the Lawrenceville home, but believe the killings were “domestic-related.”
Kumar was located near the home and arrested shortly afterward. Police said he faces four counts each of aggravated assault, felony murder, and malice murder, along with three counts of child cruelty.
It was not immediately clear whether Kumar has entered pleas or retained an attorney. Police said online court records in Gwinnett County did not list his information as of noon Monday.
