Melinda French Gates is responding to newly released documents that reference her ex-husband, Bill Gates, in connection with Jeffrey Epstein — the late financier and convicted *** offender.

The records, made public by the U.S. Department of Justice last week, include old draft emails Epstein allegedly wrote to himself. In the drafts, Epstein makes accusations about Bill Gates, including claims that Gates contracted a ****** transmitted infection from “Russian girls” and later sought Epstein’s help.

One draft dated July 18, 2013, states: “To add insult to the injury you then subsequently with tears in your eyes, implore me to please delete the emails regarding your std, your request that I provide you antibiotics that you can surreptitiously give to Melinda, and the description of your penis.”

A spokesperson for Bill Gates, 70, dismissed Epstein’s claims as “absolutely absurd and completely false.”

“The only thing these documents demonstrate is Epstein’s frustration that he did not have an ongoing relationship with Gates and the lengths he would go to entrap and defame,” the spokesperson said in a statement.

Melinda, 61, addressed the renewed attention during a recent interview on NPR’s Wild Card podcast. Host Rachel Martin noted that Bill Gates appears in the latest release of Epstein-related documents and invited Melinda to respond however she wished.

Melinda spoke broadly about Epstein’s exploitation of women and girls and the broader power networks that surrounded him — and how the situation connects to painful memories from her marriage.

“I think we’re having a reckoning as a society, right? No girl, no girl should ever be put in the situation that they were put in by Epstein and whatever was going on with all of the various people around him,” she said.

Reflecting on the victims, she added that the details are “beyond heartbreaking,” saying they hit especially hard as a mother.

“So for me, it’s personally hard whenever those details come up, right, because [it] brings back memories of some very, very painful times in my marriage,” she said. “But I have moved on from that.”

Melinda also said any unresolved questions about what happened around Epstein should be answered by those directly involved — including her ex-husband, not her.

“Whatever questions remain there of what I don’t — can’t even begin to know all of it — those questions are for those people and for even my ex-husband. They need to answer to those things, not me,” she said, adding that she is “so happy to be away from all the muck that was there.”

Bill Gates has previously described his meetings with Epstein as a mistake, saying he was “foolish to spend any time” with him and that he believed he was pursuing philanthropic support. He has not been accused of any crime or wrongdoing connected to Epstein’s crimes.

His spokesperson declined to comment on Melinda’s latest remarks, instead pointing back to the prior statement denying Epstein’s claims.

Melinda and Bill Gates announced their divorce in 2021. In earlier remarks about the split, Melinda said she felt it was important to remain honest and “stay true to yourself always.”

In her memoir, The Next Day, she wrote about growing turmoil in the relationship in 2019 and 2020, including nightmares, and she alluded both to infidelity and to Bill’s links to Epstein.

Speaking with NPR, Melinda said the latest allegations brought her “unbelievable sadness.”

“I’m able to take my own sadness and look at those young girls and say, ‘My god, how did they — how did that happen to those girls?’ “ she said. “And so for me, it’s just sadness, sadness for — you know, I’ve left, I left my marriage, I had to leave my marriage, I wanted to leave my marriage, and so it’s just sad. That’s the truth.”

She said she has been able to move forward, and she hopes there will be accountability for the survivors.

“At least for me, I’ve been able to move on in life and I hope there’s some justice for those now-women, right? We see them standing up in front of microphones in D.C. What they went through is just unimaginable,” she said.

The full Wild Card episode is set to air Thursday, Feb. 5, and Martin said the conversation will also include a separate question for Melinda: “Are you good at forgiveness?”
