A Louisiana man accused of holding a woman against her will for days — then biting off part of her face as she tried to escape — has been arrested, authorities said.

Brandon Patrick, 31, was taken into custody late Friday evening, Jan. 30, following what the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office described in a press release as “a gruesome domestic violence” incident in Ponchatoula.

Deputies said the alleged assault happened Tuesday, Jan. 27, but investigators later determined the conflict began days earlier and continued through the weekend.

Authorities allege the woman was held for several days before she attempted to flee. During that escape attempt, Patrick is accused of biting her face, according to investigators.

The woman remains hospitalized and is being treated for extensive injuries.

Patrick faces charges of domestic abuse battery with serious bodily injury and false imprisonment. Officials said the investigation remains active and that additional charges — or upgraded counts — may follow.

Before his capture, the sheriff’s office warned Patrick was considered dangerous. Investigators described him as an identical twin with distinctive features, including an old stab wound on his right hand, a half-sleeve tattoo on his left arm featuring a house and scroll, and a full sleeve of tattoos on his right arm.

Deputies also said Patrick is a convicted felon with a known local gang affiliation.
