Barack and Michelle Obama enjoyed a family night out at the 2026 NBA All-Star Game — joined by their younger daughter, Sasha.
The former first couple was photographed sitting courtside at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, on Sunday, Feb. 15. Michelle, 62, later marked the outing with a social media post featuring herself, Barack, 64, and Sasha, 24, smiling together from their seats.
Michelle wore a simple black jacket with her hair pulled up, while Barack opted for a casual blue jacket layered over a black sweater with gray pants.
Additional shots from the event showed Sasha seated in the row behind her parents. The family was also seen cheering throughout the game, which featured two American teams — the Stars and the Stripes — and a World team. The Obamas sat near basketball legend Julius Erving.
Barack has long been open about his love of basketball, and during his time in office he often shared predictions for NBA matchups and filled out brackets for the NCAA tournament.
One widely shared moment from Sunday’s game — also attended by celebrities including Meghan Markle, Prince Harry and Queen Latifah — happened when a loose ball flew toward the Obamas. Barack caught it cleanly, smiled, then handed it back to Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker and exchanged a few words with him.
In an interview during the game, Barack told NBC analyst Reggie Miller he was glad to see players bringing energy for the weekend-long event.

“There’s a lot of concern about the All-Star Game and not seeing effort,” he said, according to USA Today. “Today we are seeing [that effort]. Anytime you get Americans vs. International (teams), they want to bring it.”
Sasha and her older sister, Malia Obama, 27, were also seen together recently when the family of four posed for a photo on Thanksgiving last year.
Barack shared a joint Instagram post with Michelle on Nov. 27, 2025, showing the couple standing beside their two daughters.
“During this season of giving, let’s do what we can to give back to the communities that have given us so much,” the caption read. “From our family to yours, have a wonderful Thanksgiving!”
